Jomar Demonstrates Hybrid Machine at K Show 2013

By September 13, 2013Jomar News

Jomar Corporation is proud to announce that they will be demonstrating their new hybrid injection blow molding machine at the 2013 K Show in Dusseldorf Germany.

The Jomar hybrid is a 65 ton machine and features an indexing head and plastifier that are driven by electric motors, functions that are typically hydraulic. The goal in developing this machine is primarily to reduce energy consumption. Initial testing from the hybrid indicates an energy saving of approximately 30% compared to its hydraulic counterpart.

Initial findings are positive, but Jomar will continue testing and developing the machine to ensure its long-term durability.

“One of the defining characteristics of the Jomar machine is its longevity. In fact, we’re not even sure how to calculate the lifespan of one of our machines. Some of the machines built by Jomar in the early 1970’s are still running and making bottles to this day. We hope the hybrid will have this type of longevity and we’re doing everything we can to make sure that it meets expectations not only for energy savings but also reliability and endurance. Customers are anxiously awaiting the Jomar hybrid, but they appreciate the resources, time and care we are putting into this machine. We’re very encouraged by our findings and eventually this machine will be a significant contribution to the Jomar brand.” said Steve Brown, General Manager of Jomar Corp.

The injection blow molding machine that will be demonstrated at the K Show will be the hybrid equivalent of the Jomar Model 65. Once the hybrid machine is determined to be as reliable as the Jomar hydraulic machines, a sell price will be assessed and hybrid versions of the entire Jomar product line will be made available.

In the meantime, interested parties can view the hybrid in action in Hall 14, Booth Number 14A32. Email rgabriele@jomarcorp.com with any questions or to schedule an appointment with a Jomar representative at the show.
