Jomar Corporation, the leading global manufacturer of injection blow molding (IBM) machinery, will be showcasing its popular 85-S machine in two versions at the National Plastics Exposition in Orlando, FL, May 6-10, 2024 (West Hall Booth 1470). The 85-S GEN II, which debuted at the 2022 K Show in Dusseldorf, boasts servo hydraulics, digital clamp controls, variable frequency drive, and the latest machine controller and color HMI. Jomar recently added a Hybrid version of the 85-S GEN II, which will officially be made available at NPE 2024.
“Both versions of the 85-S GEN II deliver industry best-in-class performance“ notes Carlos Castro, President of Jomar,. “That includes 40% less energy consumption, 40% less hydraulic oil, 50% less cooling water, a faster dry cycle time (1.8 seconds) than any other injection blow molding machine and the smallest footprint, which gives us the highest output per square foot in the IBM industry.”
According to Ron Gabriele, Jomar’s Sales Manager, “Our IntelliDrive 85-S GEN II machine adds even more processing capabilities, including more preform clamp pressure (76 US tons), and a larger trigger bar length (26.5”), which results in higher cavitation and increased output. This is a leading-edge IBM machine thanks to an advanced programmable control system with color touchscreen and storage of up to 250 parameters. If the machine is granted internet access, there is also the possibility of remote diagnostics and software updates.”
The IntelliDrive 85-S GEN II integrates an extremely precise open/close digital system that increases the speed of the cylinders while simultaneously prolonging the cylinder’s lifespan. It also reduces the closing impact of the press on tooling, extending mold life.
Some of the other improvements to the machine include the relocation of the high voltage box to make access easier, nickel-plated moving platens and transfer head to remove paint from the molding area and a re-mounting of the servo drives to make space and further improve access.
“If you are looking for the best IBM machine for your increased production needs, the 85-S GEN II, in either Servo Hydraulic or Hybrid versions, is ideal,” says Castro. “What’s more, Jomar backs them with tooling and turnkey capability plus superior support – training, spares, and service.”
Jomar is the world’s leading manufacturer of injection blow molding machinery for the pharmaceutical, health care, personal care, beauty, food, beverage and household products markets.
